Juneau drivers get smarter by saving gas

Looks like the Alaskans in Juneau are getting smarter and more conscious as gas prices creep higher and higher. One Alaskan, Paul Simpson took a Kia SUV and converted it to a 4wd electric SUV. Not many details but mentioned that its got equivalent torque of a 1,000 hp engine at any speed using a 9 inch 120 volt electric engine and has a range of 75 miles per charge. The other drivers are driving the basic gas savers such as the smart car & Prius. Read More Here

    That’s awesome. I run my car off waste vegetable oil. I’m not sure if that is feasible in AK, but it works really well in sunny southern California. I haven’t paid for gas since January. At the beginning, it was a pain. Now that gas prices are so high, I don’t mind spending the money. The higher the gas prices go, the more money I save. It’s also a way for me to stick the middle finger to our foreign policy and for screwing with our environment. You can check out the car on austinchu.wordpress.com
