Congressman backs solar-electric car

Now that the oil prices are rising all of the politicians are coming out of the woodwork. Congressman Vern Buchanan is backing a local maker of hybrid solar-electric vehicles. Buchanan mentioned that american’s have been misled for the last 25 years as to where they were going to get their energy from and our dependence on foreign oil. Cruise Car, Inc., makes a solar electric car that tops out at 25 Mph, has a range of 62 miles and starts at about $8,500. Although we’d love to take this on our next beer run to the supermarket we’d like to see congressmen backing a real-deal electric car. For that price we’d rather take our chances and convert our own gas guzzlers into a real electric car that can go at least 70 Mph. Thanks for the effort Vern! Read more here
