PowerGenix Targets HEV Market with NiZn Battery

17 05 2008

PowerGenix maker of powerful rechargeable nickel-zinc (NiZn) batteries announced this week a new D-cell battery pack for hybrid vehicles or HEVs. These batteries are said to have 30 percent more power, smaller form factor and far lighter than traditional batteries used currently in HEVs. They also have the highest amount of recyclable parts and can be manufactured on the same production lines of existing NiCd and NiMH batteries. We can’t wait to throw one of these in the back of our Prius’s to get some added juice.
