GE invests in think electric cars

7 03 2008

GE has apparently invested $4 Million in think electric cars of Norway and A123Systems. GE wants to help Think successfully roll out its Ox 5-seater electric vehicle which are using a new type of battery from A123 Systems called Nanophosphate lithium-ion batteries. In addition A123 Systems has received funding of $20 Million mainly because GE is working with A123 Systems to research better battery systems for GE’s “efforts to enable global electrification of transportation.” The fact that GE is behind all of this is fantastic news because GE has such a powerful R&D force and has a solid track record of bringing things to market that exceed what the competition is offering. Way to go GE!
