The 120-M.P.H. Electric Car!
Can’t wait for all of these new EV’s to finally come to market? Counting down the days to see the new Tesla but just can’t wait? If so Hammacher Schlemmer has the car for you and they’ll gladly take your $108,000 you had burning a hole in your pocket for it. I remember this car was shown a few years back in popular science as a concept car but hadn’t heard anything since. It looks like it lived up to its initial specs!
0-60 mph in 4 Seconds
Top Speed of up to 120 mph
Range of 40-80 miles
To top it all you can park this thing in spaces where motorcycles would normally park. The length of the car is so short you can park perpendicular to the curb…which means you can park it basically anywhere. The only question we have is where can we go to test drive one of these puppies? Sign me up!

Nissan Pivo 2
The new Nissan Pivo 2 EV concept car looks like it came out of a Jetson’s cartoon. Coming from Nissan you have to take it somewhat seriously considering that they are one of the ‘Big 3′ in Japan. Although this car doesn’t look like it will attract much attention from the middle america type, it will certainly draw attention from people living in overcrowded metro areas like Los Angeles, Chicago or New York City.
The car has a unique ability to revolve the cabin 360 degrees making difficult parking a thing of the past. Pivo is packed with all sorts of techie goodies such as a front and rear camera that is meshed together so you can see everything in a bird’s eye view.

TZero from AC Propulsion
Made from thousands of laptop batteries the tzero can take down any street car off the line. Unfortunately this car is not slated for production and is just a concept and development vehicle.

Zenn 2.22
This neighborhood vehicle is a neat vehicle for it’s niche area. This car will most likely never meet the needs of the daily commuter. For uses like meter maids, campu university cars, large factory complexes and other similar uses this car certainly fits the bill. Of course the price will need to come down a bit but in time as Zenn’s production level increases and more competitive companies surface this will likely happen.

Mitsubishi’s i MiEV
This neat little car is expected to be in the marketplace in 2009. With a range of 100 Miles and a top speed of 80 mph this car should fit nicely with most of the daily commuters out there.

Wrightspeed X1
As far as speed is concerned the Wrightspeed X1 is still the top contender of any electric vehicle that exists today on the road. Ian Wright didn’t slouch when he put the nuts and bolts of this EV hot rod together. With a lithium ion battery costing $40K alone this car means serious business. It will put a grin on your face that will be difficult to remove as you mop the floor with any production road car on the road today (except the Bugatti veyron).

Chevy Volt
It looks like the folks at GM have been hard at work on this one. The specs for the Chevy Volt are quite impressive. Toyota should certainly not be resting on their laurels right now!
- Runs 40 miles per charge before using gas
- Can run on different fuels such as ethanol, biodiesel and gas (E-Flex Drive System )

E85 & Biodiesel?
Yes we thought it was a typo when we read it too. If you are knowledgeable on engines then you already know that an engine configured for gasoline cannot run biodiesel fuel. When Chevy says it can run on both it means the car can be ‘configured’ for either one or the other but not both. So you would get either 1. A car that can run on gasoline or E85 ethanol or 2. Biodiesel

Tesla Roadster
The Tesla roadster is something everyone is anxious to experience first hand. We’ve seen the videos and now we want to see the car. Although a bit pricey for the average consumer this car is priced for people who would normally be purchasing a mercedes or porsche. Regardless this automobile is a gem that is history in the making. A superfast car and one of the first EV’s to reach market (We’re not counting the golf carts)
